We began today by going to Fairbanks to the Pioneer Park. It was interesting and the flowers were beautiful. Check out the pictures on Facebook. Our stay was cut short by the rain. The temps were in the high 50 to low 60 all day. Due to the rain, we returned to the hotel, checked out the "mall" next to the hotel, ate at Pagoda - a Chinese Resteraunt - and then mom and I got a manicure while Rachel got a pedicure. While we were doing this, Richard went to the house and took the FJ to get air in the tires. Afterwards, Richard and I went to the laundry mat. A washer and dryer will be the first purchase on my list. We have been very lazy tonight as tomorrow we plan to go downtown Fairbanks - if the rain allows and then return to unload the truck into the garage. Oh, tonight we ate at Wendy's and it was all decorated for Christmas. At first I thought, really they still have up their Christmas decorations, then I remembered where we were.
The painters were supposed to come today. We went this evening to check out their work. Well, all they did was "touchup". There is still a lot of work needed before we can move in, so guess we will be busy Thursday. You can check out the before pictures on Facebook. The carpet cleaners are supposed to come tomorrow afternoon. Hoping they do, we are really tired of hotel life, but are making the best of it.
Charlie is tired of his one room life/staying in the car while we explore and wants some running room. However, every time we go to the house all he wants is to get out of the house. It's been amazing watching him adjust, almost like watching a child adjusting to new surroundings.
Mom and Rachel are taking it all in stride. Wish we could have got settled in our house and been able to do more sight seeing before they have to leave. They leave LATE Friday evening and arrive in OKC mid morning on Saturday.
It is 9 p.m. as I read this and yes the sun is still shining. Just wondering what July 4 will be like.
Well I'm calling it a night. Love and miss all of you. Be Blessed.
Sally
